 About the artist

 

  

   

     The artist was set in ancient and colonial mining town of Mariana, in Minas Gerais, Brazil, although born in the modern capital, Belo Horizonte, in 1977.

 

     The city of Mariana was one of the primary phase of Baroque art in Brazil in the 18th century, when gold wealth and the arts (when colony of Portugal), along with the nearby and equally famous city of Ouro Preto (declared a world monument by UNESCO), where the author also resided.

 

    Breathing and living art, by tricentenary religious and Baroque monuments scattered throughout the cities, where also lived and spent renowned masters of the Baroque world, the sculptures of Antonio Francisco Lisboa, the Aleijadinho, and Ataíde, the master's paintings, would thus forming in concepts and nuances tending to artistic and literary segments, motivated by the purest art history.

 

    Studied the first artistic steps with his father José Afonso Morais and uncle Aloísio Morais, both school artist Erna Lorher Antunes, graduated from Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, practicing drawing and painting. Also attended art school in the house of Mariana, Minas Gerais culture, where uncle Aloysius Morais teaching.

 

    He studied the art of sculpture and slot from the masters César Augusto Guimarães and Vigário renowned artists of baroque and popular grounds.

 

     As historian grandson, teacher, collector and former director of the Archdiocesan Museum of Sacred Art - MAAS (Lauro Morais) was encouraged and influenced by even a child to love books, literature, writing, the arts and history in general.

 

    Of higher education as Bachelor of Laws, became of course also following the family gift, Plastic Artist (paintings / sculptures / carves / graphic arts), writer and self-taught historian.
